In this 40 minute show we talk about customs and beliefs from around the world from Iceland to Rome, to America to the United Kingdom. From the Druids to Father Christmas, from Holly and Ivy, the Holly & Oak Kings to the Christmas tree. We look at some local folk law surrounding Christmas and December and take time to remember that it isn't all about receiving presents or about putting plastic baubles on a plastic tree.

We also have a snippet of an Icelandic Christmas tale from Storynory

Storynory is a site dedicated to downloadable Children's Audio Stories. The brainchild of Hugh Fraser and Matthew Lynn with narration by Natasha Gostwick and prodcution by Hugh Fraser the site has many audio stories including a festive collection. Storynory is an online treasure trove of audio stories where you will find a mixture of new stories, fairy tales, and specially adapted myths and histories. They also have a sprinkling of verse.
